Description

A Malcolm Harker original tonic of traditional silica and iron herbs enriched with easily absorbed iron glycinate. Non-constipating and gentle on the digestive system, this tonic has a medicinal flavour and salty after taste. This tonic includes herbs and fruit juices selected to aid absorption and support healthy blood cells. Iron Tonic is useful for all low iron conditions and an effective plant-based option for those following a vegan or vegetarian diet. Not suitable to take while pregnant or breastfeeding.

Ingredients

Each 5ml dose contains:

Dried herbs: Horsetail and Yellow Dock Root 83.33 mg each, Oat Straw 41.67 mg, Kelp 16.67 mg, Cayenne Pepper Fruit and Ginger Root 8.33 mg, Licorice Root 5.23 mg Plus Iodine 0.21 mcg and Ferrous Bisglycinate Chelate 8.33 mg (or 1.52 mg elemental iron per 5 ml).

Essential oils: Aniseed and Lemon 0.001 ml each, Spearmint 0.002 ml.

In a base of Blackberry Juice Concentrate, Organic Brown Rice Syrup, Vegetable Glycerine, Irish Moss, Jojoba Oil, Celtic Sea Salt, Citric Acid and Water.

Precautions

Not to be taken while pregnant or breastfeeding. Caution if using Loop diuretic, Thiazide Diuretic or Warfarin medication. Consult your natural health practitioner if using these medications.

Directions

Adults over 12 years: take 5-10 mls three to four times daily.

Shake well before use. Swill in the mouth for 10 seconds before swallowing if possible.

Children under 12 years and pregnant or breastfeeding women may take Harker Herbals Iron Boost.

Herbalist tips: Take your dose with a snack or meal that includes Vitamin C such as kiwifruit, citrus fruits, broccoli or tomatoes. Vitamin C helps iron absorption. Best to avoid coffee, caffeinated drinks and foods high in calcium such as dairy products for at least an hour after taking Iron Tonic – these are iron inhibitors. Phytates in raw beans, seeds and grains as well as raw legumes such as chickpeas can also inhibit iron absorption. Cook these ones before eating. Monitor your iron levels closely if you’re following a vegan diet or getting all your iron from plants – it’s more difficult for your body to absorb iron solely from plant sources.

This is an original Malcolm Harker tonic. Malcolm recommended taking this tonic straight, or added to 50ml of boiled water as a tea avoiding mucus forming foods such as gluten, egg-white, chocolate, dairy, polyunsaturated oils and regular table salt adopting gluten-free grain foods, whole foods (greens, fruits nuts, seeds), unprocessed coconut oil and Celtic & NZ Sea Salt with Kelp. With all his tonics, Malcolm also recommended using Intestinal Cleanse for 1-2 weeks to reduce parasite populations. By reducing the load on the body of parasites, the body is able to use nutrients from food and the active ingredients in his tonics more efficiently.
