A bushy perennial herb from the mint family with small, pale pink-white flowers. Native to Southeast Asia it can grow up to 75cm in height. The word comes from Tamil and translates as green leaf. Although widely known as a perfume and incense, Patchouli leaves have also been used in food and herbal tea. It has a solid history of use for its reputed medicinal properties which include emotional balance, cell rejuvenation and a tonic for a broad range of skin conditions.
Patchouli originated in Southeast Asia and now grows in many tropical climates. It has a long history of use in medicine, perfumery, food, rituals, cosmetics and is a traditional ingredient in love potions. Its deep, earthy, musk fragrance is said to assist in grounding and centering the mind. The oil has been used as a topical remedy for a number of skin problems such as acne, eczema, cracked and irritated skin. It is said to rejuvenate cells and assist natural healing. Patchouli has also been widely used as a hair tonic.
A strong fragrance that’s sweet and earthy. It’s a spicy musk with a mild hint of mint – reminiscent of a damp forest floor.
Blends well with: Geranium, Pine Scotch, Orange Sweet and Tea Tree.

Not recommended for use during pregnancy or on children under 6 years. Safe to use with other medication when necessary. If accidentally ingested do not induce vomiting, follow with olive oil or milk and seek advice from a health specialist. Avoid contact with eyes – flush with water. Keep out of reach of children.

Skin – general toning
Add 5 drops to 1 ml of Untouched Body Lotion. Apply daily. The scent may be enhanced by blending with Cypress, Geranium, Orange Sweet or Cedarwood Atlas.
Skin – weight loss or toning after pregnancy
Add 5 drops to 5 ml of Untouched Body Lotion. Apply daily. The scent may be enhanced by blending with Cypress, Geranium, Orange Sweet or Cedarwood Atlas.
Add 4-5 drops to 1 tsp of talcum powder, mix and place in your socks to help guard against fungal infection. Add 5 drops of Peppermint to further enhance the effect and scent.
Gardener’s hands and cracked heels
Add 3-5 drops to half a teaspoon of Untouched Body Cream and massage into affected areas. Repeat daily. You may also add 1-2 drops directly into the crack of the heel for an immediate effect.
Mood – confidence
Add 5 drops to the bath once a week and 3 drops to the diffuser every other day. Blend with Lime for greater effect. Therapeutic baths should not exceed 15 minutes.
